London Bridge Hotel Hotel Description:

The independently owned, 4 star London Bridge Hotel, which opened in Autumn 1998, is in an ideal location on the edge of the City of London. The hotel site has a heritage, which dates back to Roman Britain when the area was already at the centre of links with Europe both in commerce and communications. Significant archaeological findings unearthed during redevelopment are now with the Museum of London. The site was most recently a former telephone exchange and its 1915 façade has been restored as a local landmark for the community.
All the rooms have satellite TV, voicemail, internet access, mini bar, tea/coffee making facilities, hairdryer, trouser press, safe (large enough to take a laptop computer), modem and fax port. The hotel provides five conference rooms for meetings or private dining for 8 100 people. Borough Bar & Dining is a spacious, contemporary bar offering a wide choice of drink and excellent food in a relaxing atmosphere. For a more formal dining experience you can enjoy a return to the gracious colonial days in our 'Georgetown' restaurant. The authentic cuisine offers a mixture of Malaysian Chinese and Indian flavors all under one roof!

Behind the scenes at Cirque du Soleil (Independent)
You have to adjust your sense of scale to appreciate fully the phenomenon of Cirque du Soleil. Its founder, the bald, puckish (and very rich) Guy Laliberté describes it as "the No 1 entertainment company in the world" – a grandiose statement sure to raise the hackles of any Cirque cynic. But then you look at the evidence. Since its humble beginnings as a rag-tag gang of stilt-walkers and ...
